It’s Just A Little Mercury and Arsenic!

April 17, 2017 by Chris Kite

President Trump recently signed a bill stopping a regulation that would have limited the amount of mercury and arsenic dumped into waterways by power plants.

Typical of the Trump Administration, they are putting industry profits ahead of public safety. Mercury and arsenic in our waterways are something that should be expected. It isn’t a nice thing to have.

Republican EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt said, “This action is another example of President Trump’s vision of being good stewards of our natural resources, while not developing regulations that hurt our economy.”

This is, of course, an outrageous lie. Dumping mercury and arsenic into our waterways is not at all being good stewards. As usual, the Trump Administration is only looking at the cost of the regulation to the power industry, not the savings to the public from better public health!
