Exxon Mobil has applied to the Treasury Department for a waiver for U.S. sanctions on Russia. Exxon, whose former CEO Rex Tillerson, was awarded the Russian Order of Friendship and is now the Secretary of State for the United States of America.

While it is unclear whether when this application was submitted, what is clear is that this is a very clear conflict of interest. THIS is what we were worried about when we watched Republican President Donald Trump throw conventional ethics codes out the window and fill the swamp with industry big shots from companies like Exxon Mobil and Goldman Sachs. This is one of many reasons we were so worried about Russia’s interference with the 2016 election, and with all the communication between Trump associates and Russia.
