It isn’t hard at all to imagine that the Wisconsin Voter ID Law helped hand the state to Republican Donald Trump. Trump won the state by 22,177 votes. We’ve known for years that voter ID laws tend to negatively impact the young, minorities, and the poor more than others. And we know that those groups most suppressed by voter ID laws tend to vote Democratic. That is why Republicans so love these laws. They know there isn’t significant voter fraud. But they keep pretending it is an issue because if they can suppress enough votes, they can be in power.

These laws are discriminatory and suppress the vote. They are designed to hurt Democrats. When Republicans say these laws don’t hurt legitimate voters, they are lying.
