Republican President Donald Trump and his campaign staff, transition team, and now, administration, have refused to follow the rule of law at every opportunity. They have resisted any efforts to insure that ethics were not compromised. They have said one thing and done another at every turn.

Now the administration is refusing to answer a very simple question. After claiming that he was “draining the swamp,” Trump should be able to proudly point to an administration without former industry lobbyists and lawyers appointed to run the organizations that are designed to keep an eye on those industries. And, of absolutely no surprise whatsoever, the Trump Administration would rather not tell us how many waivers have been issued and why.

You see, it is easy for this President to stand up in front of the American people and lie. He lies boldly and indiscriminately. He lies about matters of great importance and things of little consequence. So when he tells us he has drained the swamp, but then appointed members of his cabinet that are career bankers, energy industry executives, and people that have been directly against the organizations they now head, it seems reasonable to ask to see a list of all the waivers his administration has issued.

If he were truly “draining the swamp” as he claims, he would have nothing to hide. But he has everything to hide. He is afraid of the truth and he is afraid of the American people learning just how corrupt and unethical he is!
