Like most things Donald Trump does, the recent announcement of the $110B Saudi arms deal was not an actual deal, was nothing new, and was pretty much just hyperbole. PT Barnum would be so proud!
Wouldn’t it be nice if this President could actually do some real work and accomplish something constructive? Being one of three nations on the planet to NOT be in the Paris Agreement doesn’t count. Nor does shooting a few cruise missiles at a runway in Syria.
Republican President Donald Trump has shown time and time again that he prefers to make a big splash over things that have no substance versus actually doing hard work and accomplishing anything. The Saudi arms deal is no different.
There were no contracts issued. Nothing has been sent to the Senate for review. No money changed hands. And, in fact, most of the arms included in the deal had already been started under President Obama. Only he didn’t make a big deal about them because he recognized they were not done deals.
The President needs to start acting Presidential, stop lying and playing the role of carnival barker.
