Reactionary President Playing Into The Hands of Russia

Not everyone has noticed the diplomatic rift that developed this week between a handful of middle-eastern nations and Qatar. There is history there, and while a fake news story certainly wasn’t the only cause of the squabble, it contributed to it.
As is typical of Republican President Donald Trump, he could not help himself and had to send out an aggressive tweet that I’m sure he thought would make him look tough. No doubt he wanted to try to show a win after his many disastrous losses with health care, budgets, travel bans, the Russia investigation, and his other failures. But in reality, he was just playing into the hands of Russia hackers.
As the linked article states, “CNN reported late Tuesday evening that Russian hackers planted a fake news story on Qatar’s state news outlet that contributed to the developing diplomatic crisis, citing U.S. officials who said the hacking was apparently aimed at causing ‘rifts among the U.S. and its allies.'”
When the President tweets his glee about Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates breaking diplomatic relations with Qatar, he is not being Presidential at all. Public comments can sometimes be used to help shift diplomatic winds, but this was a cowardly attack without any direct confrontation on the issues.
Donald Trump is entirely unqualified to be President!
