I think many Americans may be under the delusion that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s appointment may be at risk because of sexual assault allegations. It would be nice if that were true, but this is America. What are you thinking?

The President of the United States bragged about sexually assaulting women on camera and everyone saw it. Yet he still became President of the United States.

Do you not remember Anita Hill’s accusations and Clearance Thomas getting appointed?

Do you think that America somehow changed?

Look. Republicans love Brett Kavanaugh. He is their chance to turn the court radically conservative after they stole Obama’s nomination from him in 2016. He is their chance to fully control women’s bodies. He is their chance to make us a more gun obsessed culture.

Republicans don’t care about decency. Or appearing to be interested in the truth. If they did, it seems pretty obvious they would be pushing for a full FBI investigation. And they would be trying to find as many witnesses as possible. Republicans don’t care about women. Or “trivial” matters like sexual assault. The GOP is the party of old rich white men. They love their power. Their power over women. Over minorities. Over those that aren’t rich.

Don’t fool yourself. After a brief joke of a hearing, which they hope will appear to be an attempt to get to the facts, the vote will proceed. Kavanaugh will be appointed.

There is only one solution. Show up to vote in November and in every election. Change the tide and the face of politics in the United States. Because if people keep being apathetic about voting, the Republicans are going to continue to do whatever they think is best for keeping old rich white guys in power.
