Why We Elect2Care?Leave a comment
A quick reminder: we moderate comments because profanity is unnecessary. There are so many other words to do the job. As well as facts–use them, and don’t swear, and we’ll publish your comments. Back to Why We Elect2Care: The United States survived an ugly presidential re-election where bigotry, racism, narrow-mindedness, deceit and bullying remain commonplace. It’s embarrassing for those who are passionate about democracy but mortified about how the belligerence continues to play out on the world stage.
We are obligated to our children and the generations following to bring civility to the many issues provoking conflicting opinions between Democrats and Republicans. Our right to free speech is a gift that ascends from dissension. It comes with few rules, thus, clearly we need reminders that we can debate without hate, disagree with truth not fiction, and ultimately come together with dignity for a greater good than the sum of our individual beliefs.
By focusing on facts and history, we hope to illuminate the truth about some of the most divisive issues persisting in the current discourse–from immigration and gun reform to the depths many will go to stop the country from moving forward solely because they can. We hope to help erase the unsettling smear overlaying all the accomplishments originating from our otherwise great democracy. Please join us on this journey; it’s one best traveled with the benefit of many civil perspectives.
Your comments are welcome but monitored. We are truly committed to a more compassion electorate who can agree to disagree as we search for compromise.
