The Christian right loves to whine and complain about how awful their lives are. The fact that they can’t tell other people how to be just drives them crazy. Wasn’t Jesus all about trying to control your fellow man?

This latest law that they’ve managed to create is a real piece of work. They’ve managed to actually create a law that allows them to fire people for using birth control. I’m not sure how that can hold up to the Constitution, but they’re going to try.

When you talk about things like gun control with the right, they always talk about “the slippery slope” that puts you on. Let’s take a look at the slippery slope that allowing companies to fire people for using birth control could bring:

Fire people for getting divorced
having premarital sex
showing their hair
not covering their face
eating pork
eating meat
mixing dairy and meat
driving a car
using technology on the sabbath
thinking sexually about someone other than your spouse
masturbation
being an infidel

Yes, these are all things that some religions in some form determine as “sinful.” So if you can fire someone for using birth control, you can fire someone for these sins!

The current Republican party has been really, really awful at trying to use religion to justify discrimination. It needs to stop!
