Leaving Science to the Scientists

June 17, 2015 by Chris Kite

It is hard to be much more hypocritical or arrogant than these two!

They are complaining about the Pope speaking up about Climate Change and telling him to leave science to the scientists.

First of all, the Pope has a degree as a chemical technician, which actually makes him a “scientist.” Granted, his studies were not in climate science.

But since 97% of climate scientists that have published peer reviewed climate studies agree that the climate is warming and that it is man made, by all measures, this is very conclusive.

Unless you are a conservative politician in the United States. In which case, you are paid to deny climate change by your corporate puppet masters. So, with no background in science, Republicans often stand up and tell us climate change is not settled science. They tell us it isn’t man made, or that the world is actually cooling off. There is no basis for this. But they say it. Then they proudly proclaim, “Well I’m not a scientist, but . . . . ”

When the Pope steps in, suddenly these same politicians are worried about science qualifications. So then why are they gracing us with their uninformed views on the matter?
