The Republican E-Mail Scandal with George W Bush

Republicans, the media, and many citizens are all upset about Hillary Clinton’s e-mails. She clearly made some serious mistakes, but why wasn’t the same attention given to George W. Bush when his administration had a huge e-mail scandal. It attracted little attention and within just a few days of the story breaking, it was ancient history.
But here is the thing. The law states that e-mails that pertain to federal government business must be maintained. And yet, as many as five million e-mails from the Bush administration just vanished.
No investigation. No big stories. No hand wringing. No declarations that Bush must be indicted, or tried, or sent to prison.
Obviously it is the same old Republican standard. Do as we say, not as we do. Things that are horrible when Democrats do them are fine when Republicans do them.
How much of this is the double standard of partisan politics and how much of it is good old fashioned sexism that holds Hillary Clinton to a different standard than George W Bush?
