We need to be honest. President Obama is seeing obstruction like never before not because he is so far left or because he is ineffective. It is because he is black.

Sure Republicans were awful to Bill Clinton. But they are reaching whole new levels. Some of it is simply due to the Republican party’s ever escalating fear mongering over the past decade.

But that doesn’t explain it all. The unwillingness to even consider a Supreme Court Justice nominee is unprecedented and certainly appears to be at least partially motivated by the color of the President’s skin. Vote down nominees? Sure. But refuse to even hold hearings or consider voting? Before they’ve even seen a candidate? I call racism!

And when you consider that an openly racist person is leading the Republican field as the 2016 party nominee, it becomes less hard to believe.

Racism is alive and well in America. It is becoming more open again, and I’m hopeful the majority of U.S. voters see it for what it is and vote appropriately in November.
